Incorporating kayak tuition, kayak training and kayak skills assessment.
Southern Adventures is a nationally accredited Australian Canoeing (AC) National Training Provider (NTP). This means that we are registered to conduct kayak tuition, kayak training and kayak skills assessment. Australia Canoeing is the primary kayak education representative body in Australia. All Southern Adventures instructors hold Australia Canoeing instructor qualifications.
These kayak skills are administered by Australian Canoeing through the National Provider Network and are aligned to the competencies of the National Outdoor Recreation Training Package. They have been devised to encourage safe paddling practices in kayaks and canoes.
Southern Adventures is registered to teach courses from basic skills (introduction to kayaking) all the way up to advanced sea kayaking skills.
We offer these services to all our kayak retail customers. We will teach you how to paddle more efficiently and hence more effectively, how to plan your trips, look out for dangers and basically how to get the most out of your kayaking pleasure.
Tuition usually takes place with groups of no more than six people so as to ensure that you receive the personal attention that you deserve. You are welcome to bring along your own kayak for the practical side of the training as there is no better way to learn than in your own kayak.
