We have a wide range of single touring sit-on-tops and choosing the right one for you will come down to comfort, what sort of distance you plan to cover, what your storage requirements are and simply what appeals to you. We suggest that you pop in to one of our stores and have a sit in one or more of the available kayaks before making your decision.
Quite often it'll come down to your BRAND preference and what you can afford.
We have highlighted the key features and benefits of each different model in order to make it easier for you to compare kayaks. We have listed the kayaks according to length. Generally a longer kayak will be faster and more efficient than a shorter kayak of similar width whereas wider kayaks offer more stability.

Hurricane Phoenix Series (3.6m / 4m / 4.3m) - For the discerning customer, the Phoenix Series are made of super strong and lightweight Trylon thermoformed plastic . With the look and feel of fibreglass but the strength of ABS plastic, these are amoung the most attractive and efficient sit-on-top kayaks on the water. Available in 3.6m (Phoenix 120), 4m (Phoenix 130) and 4.3m (Phoenix 140). The Phoenix Series are definately the Porsches amongst the Fords and Holdens.
Cobra Explorer (3.44m) - The Explorer is one of Cobra's most popular craft. It's key characteristics are the distinct keel with overhanging 'wings' offering good tracking and excellent stability. The Explorer has typical sharp Cobra features, which allow the Cobra brand stand out from the crowd. Made from linear polyethylene Cobra Kayaks are stronger and lighter than similar competing brands.

Riot Escape 12 (3.7m)  - The Riot Escape 12 comes standerd with two flush rod holders and a large oval storage hatch up front, plus drink holders and port holes. This is exceptionally well priced and ideal for the larger paddler.
Cobra Navigator (3.82m) - The Navigator is an extended version of the very popular Cobra Explorer. The Navigator is ideal for taller paddlers (over 6'), who may have difficulty finding comfort in many of the smaller kayaks. It comes standard with a large well at the back and a hatch in the middle.
Barracuda SOT Kayak (4.1m) - The Barracuda SOT is fast becoming our best selling SOT fishing kayak. At just 18kg the SOT is a third lighter than most of its competitors. Aside from that an absolute pleasure to paddle and set up for fishing.
RTM Disco Angler (4.3m) - The Disco is a leaner, sharper, more manoeuvrable version of our best selling Midway. It is not uncommon for couples to purchase a Midway for the larger partner and a Discoo for the smaller partner. Ideal for the fisherman also looking to do some touring.
D.A.G. Midway (4.4m) - The Midway is our best selling sit on top in the 4m + Polyethylene touring kayaks. With sea kayak bow, large storage hatch and lean sea-worthy design the Midway is a real winner and relatively well priced.
Cobra Tourer (4.5m) - The Cobra Tourer offers the ideal combination of speed and stability. The Tourer is popular with fishermen and people looking for a kayak that is both efficient and stable. With typical sharp Cobra features the Tourer tracks extremely well and it the lightest of all the 4.5m sit-on-top kayaks in the market.
RTM Tempo (4.5m) - The RTM Tempo is a cheap touring kayak. With deep keel the Tempo tracks well but is quite heavy and difficult to turn. Not the best performer and some argue that it should come with a rudder, but definately cheap.
Cobra Expedition (5.46m) - The Expedition is our longest touring sit-on-top and comes standard with a rudder, large "A" hatches front and back and a lock-sealed compartment. The Expedition will keep up with most sea kayaks and surf ski's in any condition. It allows for very straight tracking and is ideal for sprints and long distance straight-line paddling.
